Get to know Coach Darvy
- Playing experience: Have played for 14+ years and am a former collegiate athlete.
- Coaching experience: I’ve coached high school varsity girls basketball at CVLCC. I was the girls novice coach at Otay Ranch and was the boys novice coach there as well for 3 seasons and boys JV coach for 1 season. I’ve been with PointBreak since 2022 now, I’ve coached 2 boys local teams and have been the head coach/assisted 8 boys/girls travel teams so far.
- Philosophy: I am a coach because growing up volleyball not only consumed a majority of my life, but it was a space where I could express myself the most. I want to create that environment for my athletes and allow them to have an outlet where all they have to do is play volleyball. I like to encourage my athletes to understand that mistakes are apart of the game. I emphasize competing to build a strong player mindset in order to grow as individuals and succeed on the court as a team. I indulge my players to have the mindset of “compete to win” but as well as “compete to grow”.

At Point Break Volleyball Club, we offer competitive travel and local club volleyball experiences for middle and high school boys and girls, as well as co-ed academies for local elementary schools.
